Cookie Policy
Definitions, characteristics and applicable law
Cookies are small text files that websites you visit send and store on your computer or mobile device, and which are then sent back to the same websites the next time you visit them. It is thanks to cookies that a website remembers the user's actions and preferences (such as login details, language choice, font size, other display settings, etc.) so that they do not have to be indicated again when the user returns to that website or navigates from one page to another within the same website. Therefore, cookies are used to perform computer authentication, session monitoring and storage of information regarding the activities of users accessing a website and may also contain a unique identification code that allows tracking the user's navigation within the website for statistical or advertising purposes. While browsing a website, the user may also receive on his/her computer cookies from websites or web servers other than the one he/she is visiting (so-called "third-party" cookies). Some operations could not be carried out without the use of cookies, which in certain cases are therefore technically necessary for the operation of the website. There are various types of cookies, depending on their characteristics and functions, and they may remain on the user's computer for different periods of time: so-called session cookies, which are automatically deleted when the browser is closed; so-called persistent cookies, which remain on the user's device until a pre-established expiry date. According to current Italian legislation, the use of cookies does not always require the express consent of the user. In particular, no such consent is required for "technical cookies", i.e. those used for the sole purpose of carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communication network, or to the extent strictly necessary to provide a service explicitly requested by the user. In other words, these are cookies that are indispensable for the functioning of the website or necessary to carry out activities requested by the user. The Italian Data Protection Authority (refer to its Provision identifying the simplified privacy policy and consent for cookies dated 8 May 2014 and later clarifications, hereinafter referred to as "Provision") also includes the following among technical cookies, which do not require express consent for their use:
- analytics cookies as long as they are used directly by the website manager to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the website,
- navigation or session cookies (for authentication purposes),
- functionality cookies, which allow the user to navigate according to a number of selected criteria (e.g., language, products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service provided to the user.
For profiling cookies, on the other hand, i.e. those aimed at creating profiles of the user and used to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the user while surfing the web, the user's prior consent is required.
Types of cookies used by the Website
We have classified the cookies we use according to their type of use in:
- browsing or session cookies
- functional cookies
- analytics cookies
1) TECHNICAL COOKIES:
BROWSING OR SESSION COOKIES
These are cookies that allow the normal use of the website and the services it provides, such as making a purchase, logging in to access restricted areas or maintaining personal preferences. These types of cookies can then be distinguished according to their persistence on the user's terminal: those that are automatically deleted at the end of each browsing session are called "session cookies" (for example, the already-mentioned online shopping cart). If, on the other hand, they have a longer life, they are called "permanent cookies". These cookies are indispensable for the proper functioning of the website and the users' prior consent is not required for their installation.

ANALYTICS COOKIES
These cookies collect, in an anonymous form, information on how our website is used and allow us to have a better knowledge of our users and to improve the operation of the website. Analytics cookies are considered similar to technical cookies as long as they are used directly by the website manager to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the website. This means that the user's prior consent is not required for the installation of such cookies.
There are no technical cookies of the Analytics type on this website; the Google Analytics service is used for information on the use of the website, and its cookies are third-party cookies.
2) THIRD-PARTY COOKIES
“Third-party” cookies are linked to services provided by third parties and are used for various purposes such as analysing the performance of marketing campaigns and/or delivering customised advertising on our and partner websites. This activity is called retargeting and is based on browsing activities, such as the destination searched for, the facilities viewed and more. The third party provides these services in exchange for information about the user's visit to our website. This means that third-party cookie providers are also obliged to comply with the relevant legislation. For this reason, we ask you to refer to the links of the third-party websites, where you can find the forms for collecting consent to cookies and their privacy policies.
